Cups won't print the attached file and when printing it to a file gnome-gv shows
the first page totally blank. Standard gv show all pages blank.

prints and shows quite fine for me with ghostscript 6.53 and
ghostscript 8.0.
please try this one:
    gs -r72 -sDEVICE=x11alpha lab1.ps

As mentioned on the qa dev list on March 5th I will close all resolved duplicate
issues. Please see this posting for details. First step in IssueZilla is
unfortunately to set them to verified.
