The grid is not visible unless you really stare into your screen to find it.
If I may suggest that, on the "options" window for the grid you could add the
option of selecting different colours for the grid? Black would be a good
default colour, but an option of choice for any colour would probably be the
best fix.

The grid visibility is improved in version 3.1. Maybe you want to have a look...
