Description ccheney 2009-03-20 05:19:11 UTC
From the Ubuntu bug report:
"Run OpenOffice.org in another locale (fr_FR.UTF-8 for example)
file/new/templates and documents (modèles et documents)
click on sample (exemples)

You get an error message saying that /usr/lib/openoffice/share/samples/fr
doesn't exist (only /usr/lib/openoffice/share/samples/en-US/ exists).
"

I talked to someone (I forgot who) while I was in Hamburg last month and it
looks like this bug is an issue with the installation scripts not creating the
directories. We actually saw in the code where this was supposed to happen but
was not setup to do so, but I can't remember where it was at this time. This is
not Ubuntu specific.

@ccheney:
When reporting issues please make sure:
- they also happen in a native OOo build, not only the Ubuntu version.
- take care of the right component. Here: Framework.

es,

If this somehow does not happen in the native build I would be EXTREMELY
surprised as we looked at the code in question in Hamburg and I pointed out that
since the default (for lack of a better word) action of creating the directories
did not exist for this case it would cause this problem. I think it might have
been Ivo that I was talking to about the issue but as that was 6 weeks ago I
can't remember for certain. I'm sorry I assigned it to the wrong component I
couldn't remember where it belonged.

Thanks,

Chris
