Hi, this sounds like a version from Debian or Redhat. There do you get this version from ? Could not reproduce using the version from the OOo website. Frank That was it: it was from the Fedora 3 distro. Downloading the 1.1.4 version from here works as expected. (why on earth would they change something like that?) All automatic "fill series" functionality is removed from Fedora builds of Openoffice.org, as part of a "scrub[s] [of] its code for intellectual property issues" for 1.1.2 in March of 2005.
