Beta version is compiled only for MacOS X / Intel.
You should compile it also for MacOS X / PPC.

imho you didn't search enough: both Intel and PowerPC are available at good-day.

And if ever you cannot find them, I do provide the 4 most used locales ( fr de en-US and ja ) PowerPC 
(unofficial and hacky builds) on http://oooaqua.laurentbuisson.fr/ (DEV300_m20 building)
