Please have a glance at sheet tabs of each snapshot in the illustration 
attached.

The illustration tries to propose that there might be possible to 
have more distinguishable tabs for Calc, even at less cost.

The idea in the illustration is simple: the only selected sheet has a tab.

  Some users have reported it is hard for them to recognize what sheet 
  is selected. Actually, even for me, it was difficult to distinguish 
  the selected sheet on their traditional LCD display that seemed 
  capable of lower contrast than that of up-to-date LCDs.

Right part of the illustration
  In addition to the problem that comes from a low contrast display, 
  it is still complex for normal users with normal LCD display to 
  distinguish selected sheets when two of more sheets are selected.

I wish the illustration might help everybody devise better, practical ideas.

Hhhmmm,

I think this is at least related to Issue 5560 if not a duplicate. But I will
leave this decission for the requirements team.
