the way ooo auto-saves data is preventing professional users from working
continoulsy on big documents (even on fast machines i have to stop for 20 or 30
secs). 
after all it is a waste of cpu-time to compress 99% of data which did not change.

Please enable us to disable compression for auto-saving. Just a little check-box
would be wonderful ...

OpenOffice.org Issue Tracker - Feedback Request.

The Issue you raised is currently assigned to 'Requirements' pending review, but
has not been updated within the last 3 years. Please consider re-testing with
one of the latest versions of OOo, as the problem(s) may have already been
addressed. Either use the recent stable version:
