Hello,

when writting equations in LaTeX you can
- write equation in line ( using $...$ )
- write equation centered ( using $$...$$ or \[...\] )

These 2 kind of presentation are not possible with OpenOffice so technical
documents typography quality is quite bad.

Moreover when writing equation in line you can't resize the equation in Writer.

for example : I write in Writer
the resistance is given by R = U over I which is the Ohm Law.
(R = U over I is an equation)
I select the full sentence and resize it to 40 ... unfortunately the equation is
not resized ! and that 's not very beautifull to see !

please also
add a shortcut to write equations...
add a LaTeX support (for import in Formula Editor and as an export format for
the full document)

I write it even if many people asks for these features...

Thanks

The last mentioned tasks:
- automatic resizing of embedded formulas
- LaTeX import/export
would be whole new features. Thus changing issue type accordingly and setting
target to OO later.

TL->BH: Please take over. Thanks!

About resizing formulas, just have a look here:
http://fr.openoffice.org/Documentation/Outils/AddonTailleFormule1.zip

(French presentation:
http://fr.openoffice.org/Documentation/Outils/index.html )

It permits resizing for selected formulas or all (fixes size eg 20pt, or +1pt or
-1...)

This tool is also available included in Dmaths: http://www.dmaths.org
(2.50 version or later, see http://club.dmaths.org if necessary)

Regards (please excuse my low englis level)

I know DMath.
But I think such a feature should be part of OOo.

Could you explain me why 1 year later this enhancement is still unconfirmed ?
