Reassigned to Bettina. This does not happen for me. I use Xinerama on my laptop, with either a monitor or projector as a second monitor. Typically the main screen is running at 1400x1050 and the external monitor at 1280x1024. When I start openoffice, and move it to the second screen, then start a presentation, the presentation always appears on the first screen, when really it would be much more useful on the second screen. I agree that Xinerama support should be considered, but I don't observe what the OP observes, and think the default should not be to blank other monitors. Re deathtobill's comment, I'm suggesting that Ooo should probably pop up a dialog box asking what we want to do. As for Xinerama, there may be a difference between the "regular" way of doing Xinerama (2 different X $DISPLAYs), and Nvidia's "Twinview" (which is what I have; it creates a single X $DISPLAY, but the window manager is still aware somehow of where the borders lie.) This is just a guess; I'm not a Xinerama expert! - Richard OpenOffice.org Issue Tracker - Feedback Request. The Issue you raised is currently 'Unconfirmed' pending review, but has not been updated within the last 3 years. Please consider re-testing with one of the latest versions of OOo, as the problem(s) may have already been addressed. Either use the recent stable version: http://download.openoffice.org/index.html or consider trying the new OOo 3 BETA (still in testing): http://download.openoffice.org/3.0beta/ Please report back the outcome so this Issue may be Closed or Progressed as necessary - otherwise it may be Resolved as Invalid in the future.
