Where do you set the preferences to Centimeter? When you set Tools/options/Drawing/General/settings to Centimeter my image is measured in Centimeter. In the place you mentioned it's displayed at Centimeter; when I used OOo first time I chose Centimenter, but don't remember where, perhaps in Writer. Then, right click an image and choose Position and Size (F4), all dimensions are in inch (") If I change the options there to something and back to Centimeter, the dimensions are indeed in centimeter. It seems there is a discrepancy between what's displayed and what is actually used. It confusing to have different measurement units for components, isn't one option better? Thanks Every application has its own distance preferences. This might be disturbing. If you think so, this issue should become an enhancement. If you had changed the distance units in writer and the problem appears there still we should switch the component of the issue to writer. Is the issue still reproducible and what and where exactly are you doing? Thanks for your help. tested with a fresh test account, I can't reproduce it. Changing summary and type to reflect new request: it should be a single measurement unit preference for all OOo components. There might be reasons for different units for different components? Thank you Reassigned to Bettina. Duplicated with issue 21458 : possibility to change measurement units in one single place *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 21458 *** closed. Reopen.
