My league golf handicap record.

Golf handicap differential calculations show #VALUE! in each cell. I can't find anything wrong with the formula.

LibreOffice Calc and Microsoft Excel plus Optimum's email view show the correct results of the calculations.

Hi,

It seems AOO Calc treats a number as text in a cell formatted as number.

For example: if you edit cell E1, you will see in the input line of formula bar: "'103" instead of "103".

Look at the following link: https://www.ryananddebi.com/2009/11/29/remove-apostrophes-before-numbers-in-openoffice-calc/

where you will find a detailed procedure under "The Solution" section:

"There is a solution for this. It involves a “find and replace” function. [...]"

If you follow it precisely, as I did, you should regain your calculation: cell Z9 = 19.288

However if you are looking for explanation, you shall ask someone wiser than me.

See attached file "FIXED" - your data seems OK.

I have done research on your file.

It is stored in Excel 97-2003 format. When I open it in MS Excel 2010 (compatibility mode) and switch to editing mode, for each cell with "number"
I see tooltip (help text):

"The number in this cell is formatted as text or preceded by an apostrophe".

(see attached screenshots from Excel 2010, file "Apostrophe")

Therefore OpenOffice is not to blame - something is wrong with your file.

Wrong place: this tool is dedicated to reporting bugs and not to provide help.
