Description Lee 2019-08-22 22:59:43 UTC
Just started an accounting class and the class uses Excel 2016. Having formally used Office 97 and now Calc for years I was floundering a bit with the new "Let's bury everything in tabs" way Microsoft does things now days. For example, in Excel 97 / Calc the "E" for "Sum" is out in the open, in 2016 it's hidden on the Formula tab. >.< Maybe have an option for "Classic" and "New" UI styles so if someone is going from Microsoft at work / school to AOO at home it won't be a massive shock. Just my two cents.

So this is a duplicate of a dead issue that hasn't been posted to in 10 years. :( And, wow, makes me feel old, I remember 97 being the way AOO is now, has it been *that* long since M$ wrecked the UI? :(

Obviously. 12 years ins not 21, but yea.
Maybe we will add the Ribbon tech someday. There is interest in renew the UI.
