Description Glenn 2014-11-23 05:30:25 UTC
I am using Win7 Pro and Openoffice 4.1.1. I am unable to save any file from any of the OO programs. I try save as and an error window opens saying that filename.odt, or default file extension, does not exist. I get 3 of these messages then a final error that states that the file could not be written. I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled to no avail. I have also reset user file. The error persists no matter the file I try to save it to. Thanks

Changing to "critical" since "blocker" is not appropriate in this context.

Please use the "users" mailing list or "forums" (see the Support page):

http://www.openoffice.org/support/index.html

for additional help with this problem. It could be caused by other applications on your system. Without further specific information, we can not use this as an issue.

Please feel free to update this issue once more specific information is provided.

According to Kay's comment, the symptoms that you report are not typical.
Most users have no problems with using OpenOffice.

Are you sure what you did install AOO with admin rights?

It seems that I have to run OO as administrator. When I do that it seems to work properly. Files save as supposed to. Thanks
